STRAPPING YOUNG LAD Guitarist: 'We Are Honored' To Play This Year's OZZFEST

March 12, 2006

STRAPPING YOUNG LAD guitarist Jed Simon has posted the following message on the band's official MySpace.com page:

"I guess most of you know by now that we have Ozzfest this summer... so there is your big touring news! We are extremely excited and can't wait to blow the doors of stage two every day! We're honored to be invited, and looking forward to making new friends. I get the feeling we are going to be doing alot of parking lot barbeque-ing this summer... Come out and support the LAD, and hey, buy 10 ten t-shirts a'ight? No. Really.

"We have moved over to Profile Studios here in Vancouver [for the recording of the new album], and Byron [Stroud, bass] and Jed are both busy tracking their bass and guitar parts. It's going great. Wait 'till you hear how crushing it sounds, whoa! Dev [Devin Townsend, guitar/vocals] and Will [Campagna, keyboards] should be getting busy in the next week, Dev is running the board for Byron while Shaun (Thingvold...longtime SYL engineer) is running Jed's world. The drums are just insane...but what else would you expect from THE MAN!!!!??? Everything is on track, and on schedule...the guys are focused...all is well."

STRAPPING YOUNG LAD's most recent CD, "Alien", was released last year via Century Media Records.
